Default Vista - Cannot Launch Website

When trying to use the launch website function I get this error:
Unable to open website - please check website URL.

I'm sure this is a Vista issue, I changed the user account control option without success. Any ideas?

Hello,

Can you please tell us, is IE your default browser?

To set IE as default browser,
. Open Internet Explorer
. Go to Tools->Internet Options->Programs Tab
. Click on 'Make Default' button located under Default Web browser section.
. Enable 'Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default web browser' checkbox and click on Ok button.

Now try using Launch Website command again.

Thanks for your attempt to help.... IE 8 is my default browser. I've also tried the following as suggested by Priority Support.

Turned user control off
Disabled Data Execution Prevention
Added WSP to DEP list of exceptions
Uninstalled and reinstalled

Nothing worked and I haven't heard back from support. If you have any influence or are associated with Tethys maybe you can look into ticket #LQL 353130.

Also, how do you get a replacement registration key, I inadvertenly deleted mine trying to solve this problem. I still have the order email.

Thanks again, Bill

Hello Bill,

Unfortunately, currently Workspace Macro Pro does not support IE8 browser. However, try using our advanced automation product, Automation Anywhere 5.0 that provides Web Recorder tool, which supports all versions of IE browser.

You can download free version of Automation Anywhere 5.0 from our website:
Automation Anywhere - The Leading Automation Software

We talked to Priority Support team and they had sent you the phone number you asked for. We have asked them to resend the reply in case you have not received it. Regarding registration key, all you need to do is send us following details at support@tethyssolutions.com.
1. Your full name that you specified while purchasing the product.
2. The email address that you used to register the product.
3. Your contact no. for our follow-up.
4. Your mode of payment i.e. Credit Card or PayPal or Cheque.

As soon as we have received the above mentioned details, we shall process the same and send you the registration key.

Hope that helps.

Still no luck, I reverted back to IE7 and the launch command still will not open a web site. I requested a copy of my key and asked that support continue to work on my problem.

Hello,

This is very strange as we have never heard or seen such type of behaviour before. However, let us investigate.

Can you please tell us exactly when do you get this error i.e. when you click on Launch button or when you run the macro?

Can you send us screenshot of error that you receive so that we can actually see and help you resolve it?

We have attached a sample macro; can you please run this macro at your end and let us know how it goes?

Hope that helps.

Thanks for continuing to try and resolve my issue. Your Macro fails, I have a screen shot of mine and your error messages.

The first step in a new macro, I double click the Launch Website, enter teh URL as requested, click launch and it fails with an error message.

Just in case you cannot read the errors in the screen shots I uploaded. My error says "Unable to open the website. Please check the Website URL."

I received this error after running your macro. "Unable to open the website 'http://www.tethyssolutions.com'. Would you like to continue?

Hello,

This is really getting to be a strange problem. Can you please login with Administrator account, ensure IE is your default browser and try again?

Also, can you please try this, in IE window, under Tools->Internet Options click on Security tab. At the bottom of Internet Option window, you will find one checkbox to turn On/off protected mode (see attached screenshot). You need to uncheck that checkbox.

If above solution does not help then please try to uninstall and re-install the software.

We would recommend you to contact our Technical staff at 1-888-484-3535 x 3 and they should be able to help you resolve the problem.
Alternatively, if you can email us your number at http://www.tethyssolutions.com/support_form.htm then we can call you as well.

Protected mode is off and I've uninstalled and reinstalled at least 3 time already. I call support yersterday and still waiting to hear back. I'll cal lthem again bucause they still haven't responded with a copy of my key either after 2 emails.

I also tried lowering the security level but that didn't work either. Let me know if yo can think of anything else.
