Default Window changing location upon opening...?

Hi All, thanks in advance for your help!

I have recently started using this software and I can see that it is VERY
powerful! I'm already learning how to tweak the macros to make them
pretty robust.

I'm having an issue though that I cannot figure out... I have a macro that
opens a program (window) of a certain program. It opens just fine. However,
it opens up in slightly different locations every once in a while. When the
program opens, it doesn't open in 'Maximized' format (ie. fills the screen
completely). Instead, it opens up slightly minimized (perhaps covering ~70%
of the screen). Since it opens in slightly different X,Y location once in a
while, it is making it impossible for me to write a macro that accesses that
window successfully (ie. I need to click around in that window, paste some
data, etc, and that's not possible if the buttons/fields have moved).

Is there a way to Open/Launch a program/window so that it opens up either
in 'Maximize' view, or force it to open with a certain size and at a certain
X,Y location?

Help!

Thanks!!
Chris

Hello,

Before playing back the macro, Workspace Macro Pro resizes the window to the size it was while recording to ensure all the activities are performed reliably. Hence, as in your case, if you want your window maximized while replaying the macro then what you can do is, before, recording your macro set the window to the required size and then record the macro again.

You can also re-create the macro using the editor. Just ensure that when you create a new macro through editor, your window is of the same size as you want when you playback the macro.

Alternatively, try using our advanced automation product, Automation Anywhere 5.0, which provides ‘Window Actions’ command. This command lets you work with windows and perform several operations that can be automated. Using this command you can Activate Window, Close Window, Maximize Window, Minimize Window, Resize Window and can Get Active Window Title. These commands support wild card (*) that you can specify in the window title. You can find this command under ‘Programs/Files/Windows’ command category.

You can download free version of Automation Anywhere 5.0 from our website: http://www.tethyssolutions.com/automation-software.htm

Hope that helps.
