Question automation fails when logged off...:(

Hi,

I've created a separate account with administrative rights on my PC to run automations, but every single time you log off, the automation fails...

Does anyone know how to make the automation execute whatever they are programmed to execute, when you're not logged on the account???

I actually recorded a marco to open internet explorer, log onto website and download the and overwrite the old one...looks simple isn't it? And the most annoying thing is that it worlks perfectly when you're logged on, but if not, than automation fails...

Help!!!

Hello,

When computer is logged off, Windows does not allow any non-Operating system program to take the control of the mouse or keystrokes.

Windows' security deals with logging into the computer at a very low level to prevent hacking. This is a security measure we believe serves our customer well and so we do not support tasks that can log into the computer.

However, once someone has logged in and then lock the computer, our advanced automation software, Automation Anywhere 4.0 can successfully unlock the computer and lock it back after executing the task. So instead of logging off the computer, you can lock the computer and our technology will unlock the machine to execute the task.

Automation Anywhere provides a feature of Auto-Login wherein you can run your task even when the computer is locked. If Auto Login is enabled and any task runs, Automation Anywhere will check if the computer is locked or not. If machine is locked then Automation Anywhere will unlock the computer using the username and password provided and will start executing your task. Once the task completes successfully, it will lock the computer again.

To enable the 'Auto-Login' feature, go to Tools->Options->Auto Login Settings. Check the checkbox which says: ‘Unlock your computer when scheduled task runs’ and provide the same username and password which you use to logon your computer. Click on apply and ok, that’s all.

You can download free version of Automation Anywhere 4.0 from our website:

To get started easily, you can view the demo on Automation Anywhere 4.0 usage, at http://www.tethyssolutions.com/automation-tutorials.htm

Also, there are a lot of online sample tasks available at http://www.tethyssolutions.com/automation-samples.htm

Hope that helps.
