I’m new to TA but have >30 yrs test experience. What you are doing is contrary to normal windows operation. Also after I posted this I noticed there are many other places in TA that have the same behavior.
Anyway if you are worried that when save is clicked that the user may "accidently" overwrite the file, I would suggest to throw a pop up that asks "ok to overwrite file?" Why make the user type the name (since they can’t browse to the file) every time they save.
