Default Finding with file location not coordinates

I have tried the Workspace macro Pro and Automation anywhere trials and all the two applications got stuck when I changed the location of the icons that i clicked and opened in the macro recording session. The window position and size resetting algoritm is working superb but forexample if i try to open files into a program it only selects the file on the mouse coordinates which was recorded. So If I add some new files to the folder and the que changes , it selects another file.
I think the macro recording session should keep not only the window's name but the exact path of the files and folders and then try to open that file not the coordinates of that window.

Hello,

We recommend using more of keyboard short cuts instead of mouse clicks, as they are more reliable than mouse moves/clicks irrespective of change in screen resolution or window size. Mouse clicks/moves are subject to work on a screen resolution they were recorded on. However, keystrokes will work as expected no matter whatever screen resolution you set to. For e.g. In 'Open' window specify the filename along with its path using keystrokes.

In addition, Automation Anywhere provides ‘Prompt for file’ and ‘Prompt for folder’ command. You can use this command to prompt for a single or multiple files or folder respectively from a single folder as a part of the task. The value of the files or folder selected can be assigned to a variable. You can use this variable with ‘Open Program/File’ command to open selected file

Hope that helps.

Thanks for reply. I have tried using keystrokes only to launch a program and load a file. But at the first attempt I changed the location of the program's icon in the destop. So Workspace macro Pro only tried to replicate keystrokes and launched a different program and got stuck at the process.

Actually Automation anywhere has some problems. When i am recording, it refuses to record some double clicking when my computer is on Cool & Quiet status. Normally it is at 1250 MHz if my CPU( AMD dual core 5000+) does not using 60% of its power and while using above 60%, it reaches 2700MHz. So if I don't make it 2700Mhz all the time , the recording sequence is broken.
Also the macro running process is more slower than the actual recording time. It sometimes waits and thinks a lot (using the full power of CPU). So i loved Workspace macro pro better. It is more efficient and reliable than Automation.

Hello,

We have not heard that before that the task is running slower than recorder speed. It may be because of some installation problem.

Would it be possible for you to email us your contact number at Automation Anywhere - Open A Support Case and one of our Automation Experts can get in touch with you to resolve the problem.

Alternatively, you can reach our Technical staff at 1-888-484-3535 x 3
