Default Automation Anywhere doesn't launch

I'm running version 5.0.2 on Windows XP.
I recently had to reinstall AA and, after doing so, the application won't launch. When I attempt to start it, a "Loading" box displays briefly and then goes away and the program doesn't start. I've tried uninstalling and then deleting the remaining AA directory contents, rebooting and then installing. Still nothing.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Go to Control Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel)
. Double click on 'System'.
. Click on 'Advanced System Settings'
. Click on 'Advanced' tab.
. Click the Settings button in the Performance area.
. In Performance Options dialog, click on 'Data Execution Prevention' tab.
. Select option, Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services except those I Select.
. Click on Add button and select Automation Anywhere.exe from its installation folder.
Default location is, "C:\Program Files\Automation Anywhere 5.0\Automation Anywhere.exe"

You need to be the administrator to change these settings and launch the program.

If it doesn't help, may we please know the location of your My Documents folder? It would help us investigate the issue further.

Also, try installing the latest version of Automation Anywhere from our website, Automation Anywhere - The Automation Software. Automate & Schedule IT & Business processes easily.

Note: Automation Anywhere 5.5.1 is a free upgrade for version 5.0 customers.
