Default Web Recorder Error

Hello,

I am using AA 5.5 having upgraded recently from 5.0

I am attempting to use the Web Recorder to navigate and perform tasks on a website.

I have gone to several websites to test this and I continualy get an error:

"Unable to find (link) control in the web page, please open the task editor to view the action at line #"

I have attached a screen shot for your review.

Thank you,

Clay

I have tried to use the web recorder feature with several sites now. It seem the only site it works with is Tethyssolutions.com.

Is this coincidental or what?

Any help would be appriciated.

Hello,

This is very strange as we have never heard or seen such type of behaviour before. However, let us investigate.

Can you please upload your task so that we can look into it and suggest viable solution?

The error mentioned was due to this being a secure site.

Another window was involved which asked for login information. Apparently web recorder as of yet cannot run if it is required to involve multiple windows while running a single instance.

A work around was to first open the secure site and login, then run another task that is using the web recorder.

It would be nice if this could be developed in future upgrades of AA, to be able to use web recorder in multiple windows.

Thank you!

Hello Clay,

You can automate the task to first login to secure site then using 'Navigate URL' command, you can navigate to another webpage.

Hope that helps.
