Default Web Controls (using Capture)

Hello,
I am attempting to use AA to log into a Windows Share Point site and upload a document.

I am able to open the site then when I go to click to capture a web control, AA is freezing up.

I get the click to capture web control over and over again and it doesn't seem to ever capture anything from the Share Point site.

I have attached a screen shot of what it looks like.

Thank you,

Hello Clay,

Is it possible for you to send us the URL so that we can try reproducing the scenario at our end and suggest the viable solution? You can also email us the URL at, Ask the Automation Expert. Automation Anywhere - The Leading Automation Software

In addition, try capturing the control with latest beta version of Automation Anywhere 5.5, in which web recorder supports command like 'Search by Caption' to navigate to a caption/title in an already-open browser window. This powerful navigation is possible irrespective of any URL changes. Also, using 'Manage Web Controls' command you can capture the control by caption or Index or attribute.

Hope that helps.

Default Web Controls (using Capture)

I've had this same problem with certain websites (i.e. Salesforce.com).
My solution - Run the web recorder and capture the specific actions (i.e. mouseclicks, keystrokes, etc). CLose and save. Reopen it in edit mode and copy/paste each applicable action into your original task in task editor. It is a work around but it would be nice to know why AA and certain websites freeze up.

Hello,

Using Web Recorder, we are able to capture controls on Salesforce.com. Can you please point us to exact control you are unable to capture with?

Also, try using the latest version of Automation Anywhere (5.5) that provides improved Web Recorder capturing functionality. Using Advanced View you can now add/edit/delete the tag attributes used to search for a particular control in the web page.

You can download free version of Automation Anywhere 5.5 from our website:

Hope that helps.
