Default ?MORE than one window with manage window controls?

I was very pleased when I first tried manage window controls again.

It seemed to find the control reliably.

But,
then when I recorded a SECOND control on a SECOND window,
the first was no longer "visible" to AA - even though I could see it right on the screen.

Is there a "trick" to recording from multiple windows in the same task?

Hello Phil,

No as such there is no trick to capture the controls will different windows. You can capture controls using Manage Windows Control on multiple windows in same task.

Let us know if the the window title is same for both the window. Does it produce the error mentioning window not found or it simple ends without carrying out any action.

Thanks,

Thanks,
THE window title changes.
The first window is IE8 and has a name like CCSAS-CSE case overview ....
A link is activated tamed ACTIVITY and the title changes to CCSAS-CSE Activity Log search ....

Hello Phil,

Thanks for the note. You may have tried doing this, but in case you haven't, can you try and use web recorder to see if it is able to recognize the controls.

Kindly advise.

have I mentioned that web recorder causes unwanted windows to be created?

I need to run the AA exe with only existing windows which move among 3 pages.

I'll try again next week.

any help with window controls would be greatly apprecated.

Default simple demonstration ATMNs

I've attached 5 files:
1) $$runBothClickActiveAndClickAddWORKS.atmn
2) $$zCombineClickActiveAndClickADDfails.atmn
3) $clickOnActivityWORKS.atmn
4) $ClickOnADDworks.atmn
5) error.zip (a docx picture of the error message when item 2 fails)

Items 3 and 4 work just fine if run one-after-the-other.
they each have only a single line which clicks on a control.

Item 1 (which uses the RUN command) to run Items 3 and 4 runs just fine.

Item 2 which combines items 3 and 4 FAILS when trying to click on the ADD

It appears that when the second click is added it doesn't recognize it's window even though the first click navigated to the window needed by the second click.
Attached Files
File Type: atmn $$runBothClickActiveAndClickAddWORKS.atmn (482 Bytes, 3 views)
File Type: atmn $$zCombineClickActiveAndClickADDfails.atmn (2.2 KB, 2 views)
File Type: atmn $clickOnActivityWORKS.atmn (1.1 KB, 2 views)
File Type: atmn $ClickOnADDworks.atmn (1.5 KB, 2 views)
File Type: zip error.zip (22.5 KB, 2 views)

do you need any additional help on this?

this is VERY frustrating,
since,
each part seems to work individually,
but,
then
when you glue them all together they fail.

thanks
Phil
