Hello Phil,

We are already working on the issue. However we wanted to know if you are facing this issue on all the webpages and system applications or does it happen only on the website that you have tried to use it on so far.

In case if you are facing this issue on other applications, we would like to know the platform on which the application is built upon. If possible, we would like to try to work with the Manage Windows Control command on that application at our end.

Kindly advise as this information will help us in understanding the issue in a better way.

Regards.

I can't let you use this site.

But,
I may be able to find something else.
Can you suggest a site that YOU think should work?

what specifically are you looking for?

For new work,
I've moved on to:
1) replacing AA with send keys in applications needing quick response time for end users. AA loading of tasks is MUCH TOO SLOW for a pre-compiled EXE. It should load and run MUCH FASTER.

2) When force to use AA for window recognition, I am using VERY SMALL aa sub-tasks, so that only a SINGLE manage window control is used in each subtask. this is VERY timeconsuming, but, I see it as the only RELIABLE way forward.

I recently had two other problems:
1) AA web browser after OPEN WEB browser would leave AA "hung" on the last STOP TASK command until I closed the web browser.
2) a manage web control on a PASSWORD field caused CAPS LOCK to turn on and mess-up the password by switching upper and lower case.
You really need to FORCE CAPS LOCK to be set the way the text or send keys are coded.

Hi Phil,

We want to know the kind of controls that are there on the webpage which you are trying to capture through Mange Window Controls. By kind of controls, we mean whether they are built on Flash, Silverlight, Java, .Net or any other framework.

About the two problems that you mentioned at the end -

1. Can you advise if the application hangs on the Stop Task command for all the websites or it happens with only the one that is mentioned in the task at present. Can you try and test the scenario on any other public websites, which we can access at our end.

2. This is new for us as we have worked with Manage Web Control on a PASSWORD field on several occasions but never encountered a situation where the CAPS Lock key is turned ON automatically. Can you provide some more details on this issue. We would like to know if the green light on the CAPS Lock key flashes when it switches the upper and lower case characters.

Regards.

I believe that they are WEBSPHERE java.

I believe that I have sent you VIEW SOURCE output in the past.
Would that suffice to send that again?
or is there some other way to get the info you need?
I don't build the site - only use it.

This is a DIFFERENT website. I may be able to send you a small snippet of code to show the problem. I will try to get to that tomorrow.

This happens when I use an OPEN BROWSER from manage WEB controls,
but,
don't include the CLOSE BROWSER.

I assumed that since the editor didn't complain, that a STOP TASK would be sufficient to end the task.
But,
I've learned that I must execute the CLOSE browser before the STOP TASK.

Is that the way OPEN BROWSER is SUPPOSED TO WORK?

It seems like stop task should STOP THE TASK...

I found that this works differently on IE9 versus IE8.
I will start a new thread.
Phil

The green light DOES come on and STAYS on.

I switched to a TAB and INSERT KEYSTROKES

I will see if I can create this again.
It is a website that you may be able to look at, but not log into.

I also wrote a CAPS OFF EXE in Visual Studio.

It interrogates the current state of the virtual keyboard and FORCES CAPS OFF.
I think you should add a CAPS OFF command to force CAPS OFF whenever sending keys or inserting text in either of the manage web or manage window controls.
Then ALLOW the programmer to FORCE caps on with another command.
or use SHIFT DOWN ... SHIFT UP...

Let me know if you want that code..

Please ignore - I can not recreate at this time.
I will re-open if needed.

this is very confusing and may be related to trying to use BOTH
MANAGEW WINDOW CONTROLS
and
MANAGE WEB CONTROLS

After I switched to using web controls to open a browser,
my WINDOW CONTROLS could no longer see the window...
