Default Excel: Delete cell "A1" with option entire column

When I try to use the Excel delete entire column option it deletes all of the columns. This does not happen whe I try to delete a row. Any suggestions?

Not so helpful. Any chance of getting an answer in English.

Hello,

This is very strange as we have never heard or seen such type of behaviour before. However, let us investigate.

Can you please tell us which version of Automation Anywhere you are using? You can check the version from Help->About Automation Anywhere.

You can download free version of Automation Anywhere 5.0.2 from our website:
Automation Anywhere - The Leading Automation Software (Automation Anywhere - The Leading Automation Software)

We have attached sample task for your reference. Please copy it under location, 'C:\...\My Documents\Automation Anywhere\Automation Anywhere\My Tasks' folder. Copy Book1.xls under C:\.

This task deletes entire A column.

Hope that helps.

Found the issue. The originator of the spreadsheet had merged all of the cells in the first couple of rows. Even though I had deleted these the formatting was still active so when I deleted the column it applied the command to every cell in the merged group. I was able to get around the problem by pointing the delete column instruction to a row below the merged area.
