I have a couple questions about the web data extraction feature. In the product comparison Standard edition lists "limited" for web data extraction. How limited is it? Also I need to find out when the feature is used (either from standard or Premier) if the following is possible: I will have to extract data from over 1000+ pages on an internal company website that I cannot pull data from the backend (must be a web scrape) I need to know first if text can be extracted if the option is a drop down menu. For example whatever the drop down menu currently reads for a particular entry can this program read it? In order for this to work I have to log in as an admin to access the site I need to pull data from and I have the ability to change any data there. Will using the extraction feature possibly change any of the entries in my site? Will there be any trace at all left behind that I have completed an extraction? |

Hello McKay, As such there is no limitation with the web recorder. With the standard version, you can use the web recorder to extract the data from as many pages as you want but sometimes, because of the web site which loads so many pages one after another, There may be issues which slows down the process of extraction and if the extraction process is stopped, The process starts from the beginning. With the premier version, if the process stops then it starts from the same point from where the process is stopped. You can extract the data if the option is the drop down menu. Web recorder smartly understands the control and extracts the data accordingly. None of the entries in the site will be changed by Automation Anywhere until and unless you do it manually while recording the task. There wont be any trace left behind after the completion of the extraction. The website admin bot will only come to know about the IP that visited their site and the pages that IP visited. Let us know if you have any doubts. Thanks & Regards |
