Default ? using a variable window name for insert keystrokes?

Background.
I run into the issue from time-to-time, where I would like to
INSERT KEYSTROKES
into a window whose name is in a variable.

Sometimes the variable contains an asterisk wild card like:
MyWindow - Task Detail*

Some AA commands seem to allow variables
such as
IF WINDOW EXISTS
but
other commands like INSERT KEYSTROKES
don't seem to allow variable window names.

Am I missing a concept here?

Can't wait till you post your FAQs.
thanks
Phil

Hello Phil,

Hope you are doing good today. Unfortunately, the 'Keystrokes' command does not have the feature to allow variables to be used instead of window titles. As of now we suggest you to use 'Currently Active Window' or the actual window title.

Do let us know in case you need any other information with regards to your product.

Regards.
