Hi, I just downloaded the 6.1 AA and created an exe from an 5.02 version of AA. Both the 5.02 and the 6.1 are giving me the same error "Cannot find key file """ I understand there were some issues with the license key file and the version of ayir.exe after upgrades to 5.02. I don't believe I should be seeing the same issue on AA version 6.1. I also mad sure I unloaded the AA processes operating as windows services before executing 6.1. What could I be doing wrong ? Hello GaryM, You are receiving this error because each version of Automation Anywhere will have its own ayir.exe file to enable Create EXE feature. We have forwarded your request to our Accounts Team. They would be providing you right link of ayir.exe file such that you can continue using Create EXE feature. |

Hello Gary, No, it is not the dumb question at all. You are always welcome with all your doubts. The trial version installed on any system will have the feature to create EXE but you may observe pop-up mentioning the trial version of EXE while executing them. To get this feature of Create EXE it is required to have the right version of ayir.exe file that is compatible with Automation Anywhere. This EXE can be downloaded from the link provided in the email received from our Accounts Department. |

I had attempted to generate a exe file from a task. When the task is executed, I'm confronted with an error message Dialogbox "Cannot find key file""". I click on the OK, execution halts and the executable unloads. I posted on this forum and called tech support. Tech support said I needed a new ayri.exe file and I should do the free upgrade to 5.52 since we had an enterprise license. It took a week and several phone calls to Automation Anywhere to get a working ayir.exe file. There were several problems with AA handling this issue. 1) I was to receive the free upgrade to versions 5.52 which did not occur. I only received the patch ayri.exe file with some instructions and a username/password to download an unzipped exe file. 2) The email did not arrive as promised by tethys solutions tech support. 3) Required a call to the accounts department the following day which forwarded the original email to me. It was explained I was not going to recive the free upgrade to 5.52 as promised by tech support and I'd have to upgrade to 6.1. 4) The user credentials supplied in the email for the ayir.exe did not work.. 5) Besides, the exe file could not be downloaded because of common firewall best practices.. Who today produces an executable for download without first compressing or archiving the file ? 6) Finally receive the proper credentials for the ayir.exe file a week after this process was started. 7) Installed the new ayir.exe regenerated the the task exe files. Execute the new task exe files 8) The Task executable file generated with the new ayir.exe displayed the same error Dialogbox as the original ayir.exe file when this problem began ""Cannot find key file""" Conclusion: Time spent, delays incurred, an a calendar week wasted with no progress due to tethys solutions. Hello Garry, We deeply apologize for the inconvenience faced by you. As per our today's online meeting, we tried many things on your system. We uninstalled every file of Automation Anywhere and installed a new copy of Automation Anywhere then we installed the files necessary for generating the executable. We checked the version of both the files for checking the compatibility and they were same. Then we created a simple task and created an exe of that task. We ran the exe and we faced the same error. Somehow there is some file in the system which is broken and not allowing the AA exe to run. As you witnessed, we tried the same thing at our end and we were able to run the exe with the same exe supporting files and AA 5.5.2 If you can try to install Automation Anywhere in some other system and try to create and run the exe. We want to see if you still get that error. Thanks & Regards |
