Hello, Just installed Automation Anywhere Standard 5.0. I have a task created that is set to Repeat every 5 minutes. It runs perfect when I am logged on. When I "lock" system, the I watch the screen to see what happens. The system stays locked, but I see the mouse move around for a few seconds then stops. I've done this repeatedly and what I have discovered is the task starts running and opens my Crystal Reports application, but then errors out when a window that should normally appear as a result of an action doesn't. I've viewed the log and this is what I get: Task Name : H:\\Automation Anywhere\Automation Anywhere\My Tasks\P2CDispatchReport.atmn Last Run Time : 12/3/2008 4:18:12 PM Status : 1 Complete; 1 Failed Repeat : Repeat Until I Stop Result : An error occured at line number 12. Please open the task in the Task Editor to view the action at line number 12 Error Message : Cannot find window or application titled 'Refresh Report Data' that was open during recording. - If the window title changes every time you run the task, in the Properties->General, check the option 'Enable this task to run with other similar files or window titles'. - Or if you are seeing this error because your desktop icons or quick launch icons or start menu items have moved, then try Tools->Options->Moved Menu/Icons feature. I have applied the two recommendations stated above. I have even changed the username to include the domain name as follows: domainname\username. 1) The window that never appears is as listed above "Refresh Report Data" 2) When Auto-login is activated, should I see the system actually logged on, or should I see the mouse move around but still have the Ctrl-Alt-Del window on the screen? 3) Do you need to have the task Scheduled in order for Auto-Login to work, or can you just have the task set to Repeat? I have tried both ways and still neither worked. Thank you for your help. Reg |

Hello, You need to schedule your task as mentioned below. 1) Select the task you want to schedule from the list of tasks. 2) Click on 'Schedule' tab. You can find it under Properties window at the bottom of main screen. 3) Set scheduling options as per your requirement for e.g. Daily and click Save. 4) Provide your Windows account username and password with which you have logged in. 5) You can define multiple schedules for single task. To add another schedule time, simply click Add button. 6) To unlock the computer when the scheduled task runs, please specify Auto Login Settings under Tools->Options. After this, set task to repeat using Repeat property. Once the task is started running unattended at predefined time (using schedule) it would repeat as specified in Repeat property. For domain controlled computer Username, which you specify in Tools --> Options --> Auto Login Settings, should be Domain name\Username. Similarly, while creating schedule also Username should be Domain name\Username. For e.g. if Domain name is 'Tethys' and Username is 'Administrator' then you should specify Username like this 'Tethys\Administrator'. In addition, Automation Anywhere provides you with 'Unlock Keystrokes' feature with Auto login, in which you can simulate the actions to unlock the machine. When any task runs, Automation Anywhere will check if the computer is locked or not. If it is then it will unlock the computer using the username and password you have provided and start executing your task. Once the task completes successfully, it will lock the computer again. Hope that helps. |

I have tried all that has been recommended. Automation Anywhere will not unlock the computer even though I have type in the Domain Name\username when saving the Scheduled task and when specifying the Auto-Login information. Please see the email responses I have submitted with detailed screen images on case #AYY-419864. I have spent about 8 hours this week trying to get a fairly simple task to work properly. |
