FTP Task not completing properly

Hey all,

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but here it goes:

I have an Automation task to FTP four files from the local machine to a server on a daily basis. Two of the files are about 2MB, one less than 500kb and the fourth, 15MB.

What happens is that the three smaller files upload fine and then the big one comes along and is only partially uploaded. For example, today it uploaded 6.7MB and then stopped. Yesterday, it only uploaded 620KB and the day before 3.1MB. No apparent pattern.

The task has been allotted 20 minutes to run before another task starts. I have been told its possible that another task is cutting it off but I refuse to believe that the task is taking 20+ minutes to run. My first supporting reason is if I use a program like Filezilla to upload these files - its takes 5 minutes (or less) for all four files to upload completely. The other supporting reason is if I manually run the task when I get in in the morning, it too only takes a maximum of 6 minutes to run (but usually less as well).

So if the task completes successfully when its manually run and the upload doesn't take anywhere near 20 minutes, why is it randomly uploading different amounts of this file each time it tries?

Hi there,

It seems like you are running the task on schedule and something seems to be going wrong when run on schedule as opposed to running manually. To eliminate that possiblity, can you schedule the task 2-3 minutes from now and see how that goes..is it possible that the internet can go down momentarily during the schedule time of this FTP task..maybe late in the night..

can you pls paste the text format of your task to give me an idea of what you are trying to upload?
