Question Prompt Message writing where it shouldn't

I'm having a lot of trouble creating a very basic macro. I'll just list one here at the moment. It seems that when I prompt for a value, currently after a user types what they want and press ok it writes that data into the active windows which is causing all sorts of problems to my Data.

The obvious solution would be to check the prompt option and make sure it is set to don't write in any window and it is.

I'm not sure what is causing this bug.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

Stich

Hello,

This is very strange as we have never heard or seen such type of behavior before. However, let us investigate.

Can you please upload the task that you are working with so that we can try reproducing the scenario at our end? Also, let us know the data that you enter when prompted and screenshot of active window having data that you entered.

You can locate your task by selecting your task from Task List, right clicking that particular task and selecting 'Locate on disk' from context menu.

It would help us investigate further.

Since writing yesterday I have tried many things to fix the various issues I'm having. Clearly something isn't write. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program but it has seemed to make much difference. The problems do not occur the same way every time but there are always issues.

The path to my task is \\optimusprime\users\stephenlynch\My Documents\Automation Anywhere\Automation Anywhere\My Tasks as this a windows server environment.

The data I am entering into the prompt fields are simply two dates e.g. 01/01/08 & 01/04/12. It's funny because when these are assigned to cells in excel sometimes they are in US date format and sometimes they are correct and in AU format.

I've also tried to make a couple of screen recordings in flash to try and shed as much light on the subject as possible.

Another issue is I can never assign cell B5 to a variable to be called for the loop. It just doesn't do it and moves on.

Somewhere along the line it turns my Numlock off too.

If I step through each of the tasks it seems to be OK except for getting the cell B5 as a variable so I've never been able to test the loop properly.

As you can imagine this is very frustrating for something that I thought should be straight forward.

Thanks for taking the time to help me with this

I have two files. I have one that shows the obvious error http://www.stichtek.com/AA/Bigerrors.swfand one that is step by step and most things work fine except for the B5 Variable and the loop (not sure that loops work in step by step mode). http://www.stichtek.com/AA/AAerror.swf
