Angry IE Not maximized - Web Table Extract - Using Error Handling

Hello,

I have a script that uses error handling to capture a screen shot of IE whenever it encounters an error when trying to extract a table from a website.

However A lot of times IE opens too small, but other times it opens fine. The script is set to close all windows when its done. This is driving me crazy I have set IE to open maximized every time, but the only time it opens small is when the script runs.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hello,

Is it possible for you to upload the task showing this behaviour? Otherwise, please email us your task at http://www.tethyssolutions.com/support_form.htm

You can locate your task by selecting your task from Task List, right clicking that particular task and selecting 'Locate on disk' from context menu. Otherwise, you can also send text format of task. For that, open your task in a Task Editor, go to Tools->Save as text file and send this text file.

It would help us investigate further.

Default I'm afraid it's not an AA flaw but an IE one.

Hi,

- I'm afraid it's not an AA flaw but an IE one.

- I also have this issue where I would like to force IE to open maximized every time but it's not possible to force it to do so, as far as I know.

- The only way I found is: as IE remembers the size it was when you closed it the last time, open an IE, maximize it, close it, and the next time AA tries to open it, it will be opened maximized.

- Whoever knows how to force IE to open max please let know.....

- If only AA could work with Firefox instead of IE....

Hello,

You can use 'Maximize Window' option of 'Window Actions' command to open IE browser maximized. You can find this command under 'Programs/Files/Windows' command category.

Using 'Window Actions' command, you can work with windows and perform several operations that can be automated for e.g.

. Activate Window
. Close Window
. Maximize Window
. Minimize Window
. Resize Window
. Get Active Window Title

These commands support wild card (*) that you can specify in the window title.

For your reference, we have attached a sample task that will force IE window to open maximized. Please copy attached task under location, 'C:\...\My Documents\Automation Anywhere\Automation Anywhere\My Tasks' folder.

Hope that helps.

Default that is open & maximize, not open maximized...

Hi,

- The script provided is 'opening an URL in IE, then maximizing IE', that is not 'opening IE maximized'.

- If we use the web recorder command, it will just open IE the same size it was last opened..., how to force WEB recorder command to open IE maximized as there is no option for that...
