Unhappy Script Failed to run on the server machines.

Hi,
We designed automations script exes that were ment to run on a server machine. Scripts were sheduled on the server machine. It was really a shock to find out that those scripts run quite efficently when we observed them on the Remote Desktop session and they stop running as soon as we closed the session.
Its quite urgent. Please help me as soon as soon as possible.

Hello,

Can you please reply to following questions?

1) Are you running .exe or .atmn file on server?
2) How did you schedule exe or .atmn file on server i.e. using windows scheduler or deployment manager?
3) Is your task automating remote desktop activities? One of the possibilities could be that the Remote Desktop requires you to be logged to enable transfer to keyboard and mouse control via remote desktop to the server.

In that way we would be able to understand the problem clearly and can serve you better.

1. We are using the .exe files on the server machine.
2. We are using windows sheduling to schedule the exes.
3. We are trying to automate a task in a .net winforms application. Specifically the task clicks on some menu items in the application then waits for another window to com up. Then some button clicks on that window are done through that task. What we want that AA should perform this task at scheduled time whether we are logged in ts session or not. In other words, this task should execute even if monitor is not attached to the server.

Thanks

Hello,

Scheduled exe works even if monitor is not attached to server. However, let us investigate why it does not work for you.

Can you please try creating a similar environment with some other exe and see if same thing happens? Let's say schedule a calculator (calc.exe) using windows scheduler, close the session and check if the scheduled task works.

In addition, can you please let us know the location where you have placed the exe (created from task) on server. Try placing calc.exe at same location and check if the schedule works.

Hope that helps.

The Calc.exe script also not worked on the machine. We have placed the exe file on Path C:\SomeFolder\Calc.exe. This is the path where other exe files are also present.
