Default CSV Import

I'm currently importing a CSV file, and as I run through the Resultset, I'm setting each column to a different variable.

Some of the columns are credit card numbers like : 546372617282811212, but what AA does, is makes the variable like 13.93939292902+E15 etc. like it would do it in excel. Some of the fields are for example transaction ID's like 0000029382, but when retrieved the variable is just 29382.

How can I stop AA from doing with these strings what it likes and getting the REAL values from the column.

Regards
Arne Klopper

Hello,

Is it possible for you to send us the task that you have created so far and a sample CSV file so that we can try reproducing the scenario at our end?

Otherwise, you can also email it at http://www.tethyssolutions.com/support_form.htm so that our Technical Support staff can help you resolve the problem.

Smile csv values > need Schema.ini file

Arne,

This isn't AA that's causing this problem. You need a Schema.ini file in the same directory as your csv file. The Schema.ini file tells the driver how to process the values. The name of the file is always Schema.ini

If you search Microsofts site you should find some information on Schema.ini. start here.

Schema.ini File (Text File Driver)

File contents look like below
[filenameXYZ.csv]
Format=CSVDelimited
ColNameHeader=True
MaxScanRows=0
Col1=Number Text
Col2=Number Text
Col3=Number Text
Col4=Number Text
Col5=Number Text
Col6=Number Text
