Post Variable List is deleting intermittently

I have a two part process which runs and uses a Variable list created in the Variable manager of 7 values corresponding to 7 office codes. The two atm tasks ran well from 3/11/08 - 5/13/08 and since then after the processes run, the list in the variable manager is no longer there on an intermittent basis, so at the next run time, the process will fail at the line attempting to access the user defined variable list.

I have not been able to identify the cause of the list disappearance. I have implemented a temporary fix which copies a good copy of the variable.dat file to the C:\My Documents\Automation Anywhere\ location after the processes run so that if the Variable file is reset the default settings, it will be updated with the correct variable lists, but would like a more permanent solution to this issue.

The attached tasks are the ones in question - the TERReports.atm requests reports from our internal reporting system and the TER412Download.atm downloads the reports after they have been generated. The TERREports.atm task is the task which utilizes the Variable List of Offices.
Attached Files
File Type: atmn TERReports.atmn (33.0 KB, 7 views)
File Type: atmn TER412Download.atmn (4.9 KB, 2 views)

Hello,

Could you please tell us, when you ran the task, the values of a list variable were missing or the variable itself was missing?
Could please let us know when the problem occurred, did you ran the task with Administrator account or Standard User account? Also, did you logged in with same account in which you had created that list variable?
Note: You should have proper rights (Read and Write) on My Documents folder to access user-defined variables. In addition, for security purpose, tasks and variables of every user are accessible in their account only.

For your information, you can also save list of values (office codes) in a text file on your hard drive and using Automation Anywhere, you can read this text file through variable.
Automation Anywhere provides you an option that reads the variables from the text file. You can save the text file to any location.
Go to Tools->Variable Manager and in 'User Variables' click on 'Add New Variable'. Select a variable of type 'List' or 'Value' (as per your requirement) and select the option 'Read from text file' and specify the file from where you would like to read the values.

For better understanding, you can refer to following online example,

Hope that helps.
