sometimes I have edit large ATMNs of several hundred lines. when I duplicate or copy and paste a few lines, I would like the TOP LINE that is displayed to "remain the same." AA always does this flash and blanking of the screen and then repainting. That in itself seems unnecessary and is extremely annoying. Most modern editors don't do that, they just repaint from the current position on down. At minimum, it seems AA could cache the changes and build a new image and THEN change it rather than blanking and flashing first and then waiting before repainting. BUT, even worse than all the flashing and repainting is the REPOSITIONING. What logic is used to decide what line should be displayed at the TOP? It would seem like a simple useful rule would be: "Display the exact SAME line as was at the top before the duplicate/copy/paste or delete was done." If the TOP LINE is deleted, then display the first line immediately PRECEDING the TopMost deleted line. Can this be done? Is there something I'm "missing" that is causing this awful editting effect? I use multiple displays (3) -all of them are in PORTRAIT mode. I use 1024x1280 pixels. I use "medium" fonts (125%) size. Can you help? Thanks! Phil |

Hello Phil, Product team is currently working on new editor for Automation Anywhere. In Q2, 2011 we will have a new version of Automation Anywhere with brand new editor that will offer many new features of modern editors. The beta for that editor may be available as early as Feb or March and we will surely involve you for your comments. With the new editor we are also introducing few performance changes that will make editing much faster. -Mihir |
