I have attached my job file and corresponding CSV file. The job functions without flaw for the first line in the CSV file, however, when it begins the itteration for the next line (or any subsequent lines) it hangs at line 12 of the job (Extract Multiple Data from webpage), which is pattern based data extraction. Please advise. I am running AA Premiere v5.5.2 on Windows Server 2003 w SP2 |

I should also note, that I have tested it by deleting the first line (class 2) and then restarted the job and it still hangs. It almost appears as if the Pattern Based Multiple data extraction will only work for the one item. The layout is the same for each and every link in the CSV file. To quickly test the job on your end simply delete the first row of data and you will see that it stops completely. |

Hello, It might be possible that AA 5.5.2 version was having issue with web recorder for this particular website. We tried to run your task on AA 6.0 version which is running alright at our end. We ran the task for couple of pages, please find the output file generated at our end. However, the task is taking some time to carry out Extract Multiple Pattern command because the website is designed in such a pattern that the web data extract takes time to understand and pull the data from it. We recommend you try running the task on AA 6.0. To install AA 6.0 please click on the link below. http://www.automationanywhere.com/Do...e-setup600.exe |

AA 5.5.2 takes time too I see, approx. 10+ minutes per row. Why would it run perfectly fine for the first item, class 2 (which is the template used to "create" the pattern based extraction) and then crawl for all subsequent rows in the CSV file? Does AA 6.0 allow for additional tuning of the pattern based extraction? The website is very well formatted, and every item I want contains a distinct ID wrapped inside the repeater. Perhaps the pattern based extraction is not the way to go for this website, but rather loop through each repeater (loop through each repeater "webcontrol") and extract the data that way. I will let you know how it turns out, so hopefully it will benefit someone else. Last edited by cufis; 12-10-2010 at 09:22 AM. |

Hello, There might be some problem in extracting multiple data with AA 5.5.2 as many websites are formatted cleanly but the source file is ambiguous for the software’s understanding. AA 6.0 has many upgraded features and bug fixes. It has been tweaked and tuned over AA (previous versions). So that could be the possible reason that task is working alright in AA 6.0 version. You can download the trial version from the following link Automation Anywhere - The Automation Software. Automate & Schedule IT & Business processes easily. Looking forward to hearing from you. |
