Default Hot to setup SMTP Virtual Server in Win XP

Hello,

I tried to use the "Send email" command but it kept failing. I am using exchange for my email. Is there a way that I could configure my local SMTP Virtual Server to send out an email for notiication purposes such as task fail or success.

Thanks you!

Hello,

Send Email command should work. Could you please verify Host and Port number specified under Tools->Options->Email Settings?

If you like to be notified of task status when task runs, use Email Notification property. You can find Notification tab under Properties window on main screen (see attached screenshot, EmailNotificationProperty.png).

If you check 'Send email notification when task finishes' option, Automation Anywhere will send an email to the email address that you specify. If you check this option but do not specify anything under the Email property then Automation Anywhere will use the email address specified in the 'To' field under 'Tools->Options->Email Notification'.

If you have only one email address that you would like to notify, it is easier to set it under 'Tools->Options->Email Notification' just once. However if you want different tasks to send status to different email addresses, specify email addresses for each task.

Before setting up the email notification, also setup the email settings under Tools->Options (see attached screenshot, EmailSettings.png).

1) Host- The SMTP Host allows you to send email from Automation Anywhere over the Internet. You have to obtain this information from your Internet Email provider or you may obtain it from the configuration section of your Email program.
2) Port- This setting defines the TCP/IP port, which Automation Anywhere uses for sending e-mails. By default, this setting uses port 25 that is the Internet standard for sending SMTP e-mails.
3) If your outgoing mail server requires username and password then, specify your username and password in their respective fields.

Hope that helps.

Default How to setup SMTP Virtual Server in Win XP

This does not help. The screenshots are so small, I can't even see anything. I don't have SMTP server yet, and I'm trying to set one up on my local PC that I'm using with AA.
