Default ??error 53 file not found AA won't start??

I have AA v6 installed.

suddenly,
yesterday,
It started running slowly.

I shut down the machine and restarted.

The next time I tried to start AA,
I got
"Error 53 file not found."

what shall I do?
Is there a REPAIR option?
or
Must I uninstall,
re-install?

or,
Is there something easier?

Thanks
Phil

Hello Phil,

Yes, you have to uninstall and reinstall Automation Anywhere program.

By clicking on Start ->All programs->Automation Anywhere - 6.0->Uninstall Automation Anywhere-6.0

Install the trial version from the website i.e. Automation Anywhere - Leader in Automation Software, Automated Testing. Automate with ease.

Register the product with the registration keys sent to you upon purchase.

You are done!

Please let us know how it goes.

I've tried re-installing on two different windows 7 machines and both fail.

Sometimes the install just "flashes and disappears" part way thru.

sometimes it finishes and tries to start AA,
then
I continue to get the "file not found"
followed by an ACTIVE X error.

Is there any way I can get you better/more diags?

are there any libraries that I need to repair?

I run the installer as ADMINISTRATOR on W7.

Phil

Hello Phil,

Please install the foll link:

1. Visual Basic Run-time
Download details: Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp6.exe)

2. Windows Script Host
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

You might be required to reboot your machine after you install the above mentioned files. As you finish doing this, try to reinstall the software and see if you can use it without any problem or not.

I notice that this is a version of WINDOWS SCRIPT for WINOWS XP.

As noted above, I am running WINDOWS 7.

Is it safe to install an XP version of WINDOWS SCRIPT on my WINDOWS 7 machine?

Is it possible that installing VISUAL STUDIO 2010 could have caused this problem???

I uninstalled visual studio 2010 and components.

then installed the Visual BASIC V6 RUN TIME

BUT!!!
when I tried to install the
Windows Script Host 5.7 for MS WINDOWS XP

I get a message that there is not enough memory -
even though I have 4 gig or real and 8 gig of virtual.

And over 43 gig of free disk space on the C drive.

are you sure that this
Windows Script Host 5.7 for MS WINDOWS XP
can be used on WINDOWS 7?

is there something else I should have?

Phil

SO,
I right clicked on Windows
Script Host 5.7 for MS WINDOWS XP
and used the COMPATABILITY TROUBLESHOOTER on W7.

It ran it as XP SP2 - but,
still did not complete the install successfully.
