Default Running .exe while logged off

Hi,

I am considering buying Automation Anywhere, and was just wondering if you can schedule an exe to run while the computer is logged off (not locked)

Hello,

When computer is logged off, Windows does not allow any non-Operating system program to take the control of the mouse or keystrokes.

Windows' security deals with logging into the computer at a very low level to prevent hacking. This is a security measure we believe serves our customer well and so we do not support tasks that can log into the computer.

However, as you know, once someone has logged in and then lock the computer, Automation Anywhere can successfully unlock the computer and lock it back after executing the task. So instead of logging off the computer, you can lock the computer and our technology will unlock the machine to execute the task.

Hope that helps.

So how can you unlock a computer that does not have AA install on it when running an Automation.exe file?

Hello,

Unfortunately, you cannot unlock a computer that does not have Automation Anywhere installed on it when running an Automation.exe file. However, using Automation Anywhere 4.5 an exe can run in locked mode if your task doesn't include Keystrokes or Mouse actions. For e.g. if your task includes Manage Windows Control commands of Web Recorder then the exe created from this task will run even if your machine is locked.

Hope that helps.
