I've been playing with an evaluation version of the Standard edition for two days, but am quite familiar with automation. I've used the record-playback to create a task, but now I am going through it to optimize it (removing excess delays, and unnecessary mouse movements). The operation I am attempting to fix right now is a situation where a right-click is performed to open an Alt menu, then the pointer hovers over several menu items to open side menus. I jotted down the coordinates needed for each menu item to hover over, but there does not seem to be a way to just enter these in the "Insert Mouse Move" command. It appears the only way to get coordinates into this command is to use capture. However, after pressing the "Capture" button, the screen flashes to the application and back to Automation Anywhere grabbing the coordinates my mouse was on (which is just over the "Capture") button. Is this how this "Capture" is supposed to work? Is there a way I can just tell Automation Anywhere, "Go to 120x295, delay, go to 300x295, delay, go to 300x425, delay, go to 525x420, delay, click on 525x444."? I already have the "click" part, but navigating to that menu item is proving to be difficult. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks, |

I'd LOVE to have this feature. Even better than that for me would be to have a way to use variables in the coordinates box as well. The way we use it, it is possible for me to know where the objects are from a couple of DB queries, so then even if items would change locations, I could still click on them without having to re-record my scripts. I am hoping this is something that can be added to next version.

Hello, Insert Mouse Move command lets you insert a command to move your mouse from one location to another. To get coordinates you need to click on 'Capture' button and then drag the mouse to the location where you want the mouse move to begin or end and release the mouse. This will automatically capture the required information. While dragging the mouse pointer, you can see a yellow strap moving along with mouse pointer, showing x and y position of coordinates so with the help of this yellow strap you can set the required position of coordinates. We have forwarded your request of providing variable support in Insert Mouse Move command to our development team for consideration. Hope that helps. |
