Question Prompt for Value - Not prompting on Windows Server 2003

I'm using AA 6.0.1 Premier. I've created a simple task that prompts for a value from the user and then displays it back to them in a message box... see attached task.

I then converted this task to an exe and tried to run it on three different windows server 2003 machines (both 32 and 64 bit).

On all of those machines, the task didn't prompt the user for the input value and that step was just skipped. I cannot get prompts to work in an exe on Windows Server 2003.

What's going on? How do I get them to work?

Hello,

We created exe of task and ran on Windows Server 2003 R2 32 bit, its working as expected. Also, Prompt command doesn't have system dependency so it should work on all the systems.

We would like to see the issue at your end so could you please send your number and convenient time when we can schedule a meeting.

Can you please submit a support case from Automation Anywhere - Open A Support Case

Alternatively, you can reach us at 1-888-484-3535 x 3.

Default AA not installed on machine where running exe

I can get it to work if I install AutomationAnywhere onto the Windows Server 2003 machine. But if I do not have AutomationAnywhere installed, I cannot get the prompts to work when using an exe file.

Can you try running your exe on a Windows 2003 Server that does not have AutomationAnywhere installed on it?

Thanks.

Hello Tyler,

We have tested the EXE containing prompt by running on Windows 2003 32bit system which does not have Automation Anywhere and it is working alright.

If it is fine with you we can schedule meeting to understand the issue much better and discuss about it. Please provide you contact details in case you would like to go for the meeting.
