Running exe on a Unix machine

Hi,
I am looking to buy Automation Anywhere and use the exe facility to deploy backup exe's to a number of machines.

1. I need the exe's to create the database backups and then FTP the created file to a network drive.

2. Most backups will be on a daily basis but one will be a weekly backup.

I believe Automation Anywhere will happily see to this. My questions are:

1. Some of the machines are Unix and therefore do not have windows schedule, Can these exe's still be scheduled to run on a daily or weekly basis?

2. The company's Windows XP machines require a username and password. The password expires regularly. When running exe's on Windows XP machines with a network login, will the exe's run without logging in / unlocking the machine and therefore will still run when the password changes?

Regarding your questions,

1) Automation Anywhere is supported on Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000 & Windows NT so unfortunately, you cannot run Automation Anywhere exe on Unix platform.
2) For security reason, Windows XP requires that you must specify your Windows username/password if you want to run scheduled task. Username/password ensures that only you can schedule tasks.
If your task does not include mouse and keystroke actions then exe can run without unlocking the machine because when computer is locked, Windows does not allow any non-Operating system program to take the control of the mouse or keystrokes. However, while scheduling the task Username and Password is required.
