Creating Files using Variable in File names

hi,
We are using Automation Anywhere 4.0 Enterprice version.

I was trying to create a Excel file with variable in file name (e.g. Test$Year$$Month$$Date$.xls). I was able to add the variables to the name (using F2 Key as the hint suggested) but when task runs it throws error and file is not created.

It is required as I want to create a unique file with every run of task. Also i want to open the same excel created at the same time in next step (to add values).

Hello Preeti,

It is possible that the $Date$ variable that you are using has characters like slash that are not allowed in the filename in Windows.

You can configure the format of the Date variable by going to Tools->Variable Manager->System Variables->Date.
