4.0 script paused

while a script is paused, I can not stop it by pressing ESC, i have to resume and then hold ESC until it stops.

Hello,

That is the expected behavior. It is because when the script is paused, you can freely do other things and make use of the Escape key in other applications which otherwise would stop the task.
