Default dynamic pages

Hello,

The data extraction tool seems to work only provided with a static address.
Is there the possibility to search for a keyword (dynamic) by submitting a form and then extract the data from the response page (current page) ?

Thx for ur time,
bionade

Hello,

Yes, it is possible if layout of webpage is same. You just have to record the task once, if you want to run the same task with different parameters then make use of variables in place of a fixed value and run the task. Web Recorder will take care of dynamic URL.

You can view online sample tasks for web data extraction at, http://www.tethyssolutions.com/autom...dataextraction

Hope that helps. If you could provide more details about your case, we would be able to help you more with specific task.

Default Dynamic page using Managed Web Controls

Using Automation Anywhere 6.0.1 Premier, I can't save a dynamic page (using variables) in the Managed Web Controls window. Even If I replace the text in Step 1 with my dynamic page and save the step, the software still keeps the original text with no variables. Any way around that problem?

Thank you.

Hello,

Web recorder can take care of changing parameters in URL if layout of WebPages is similar.

Is it possible for you to provide URL of WebPages you are talking about so we can have a look and create sample for your reference?

Default problem extracting data when the webpage has a dynamic URL

I am having a similar problem.

I cannot get the EXTRACT command to work for extracting a single field or a table because the URL associated with the webpage is dynamic and AA doesn't seem to allow any modification of the webpage used with the EXTRACT command.

The extract command aborts when the script is run.

For example:

extract table from 'http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/key-ratios?symbol=aapl&page=TenYearSummary' website's '2' table

The value "aapl" is a stock symbol which will change each time a new input record is being processed.

Help!

Hi David,

Attached is a sample task which extracts the table from the webpage irrespective of the change in the url. Download and Save the task under 'My Tasks' folder. To get the location of the 'My Tasks' folder, right click on any of the existing tasks and select the 'Locate on Disk' option.

Save the attached 'sample.csv' file under 'C:' before running the task. The output file gets saved under the 'C:' by the name 'David Tobin_Sample.csv'

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks for your reply.
I ran your routine and sadly it DOES NOT WORK.
It has the same problem that I am describing.
The Navigate URL on Line 3 works fine and the desired web page is displayed.

However, the routine will abend on line 4 with the following error message:

"cannot find the Table1"

Thus, the extract statement does not work and the routine abends.

Please advise.

Hi David,

The script runs fine when ran at our end. Attached is the sample file which extracts the table from two different URLs. The table highlighted in yellow is for 'Apple' whereas the one in blue is for 'Dell'.

We would really appreciate if you can have an online meeting with one of our experts which will help them to understand the issue in a better way.

Can you suggest a convenient time and provide a contact # where they can call you.

Kindly advise.
