Exclamation AA Crashing Excel 2010

Hi folks.

I am running the trial of AA. I have a simple task I have designed, that is intended to loop thru all the workbooks in a folder and so something simple, saving each after complete.

Well, Excel 2010 crashes immediately after the first workbook opens. I even placed a delay after the open workbook action, thinking this was a timing issue, and XL crashes before hitting the delay.

See the attached screenshot for details on what this task is doing.

thanks,
-rob

Hello,

This is very strange as we have never heard or seen such type of issue before.

However, let us investigate. Can you please try using Excel:Open Spreadsheet command directly i.e. not inside the loop and let us know if you get the same results.

Thank you, I just tested this with Excel:Open Spreadsheet outside of the loop, and it still crashes.

For what it's worth, until recently I worked on the development teams at Microsoft, both on Excel and PowerPivot, and our internal test automation often crashed Excel 2010 unless we included short delays between commands (clicks). That's why I tried the Delay action. But if AA is still "talking to" Excel immediately after the Open Spreadsheet command (before the Delay kicks in), then perhaps AA is hitting the same issue? Just a thought.
