Default Nvaigate to a Path

Using AA 6.0 Premier, in the attached example, how would you navigate to a specific directory? The directory would depend on a variable, so it is going to be a different folder every time.

I know of no other way in this Program (Photomatix 3.0, Batch Processor) to select this directory.., I mean there is no text input field or place to type in a path. Is there some behind the scenes control that can pass a path these type of windows?

Thanks,

Brian

Hello,

You can use 'Prompt for Folder' command to prompt the folder path and save it into any user variable. Later, you can use this user variable with 'Open Program/File' command or 'Loop for each file in a folder' as per your requirement.

The Open Program/File function will not work in this case. This menu tree in my screenshot cannot be opened with the program like a .doc with Word. This directory can only be chosed by picking the correct folder via mouseclicks directly in the tree. I was hoping there was some other function I was missing.

Hello,

Use 'Prompt for Folder' or Prompt for File' command. You can find Prompt command under 'Interactive' command category. Just follow below mentioned steps,

. Double click Prompt command.
. Select 'Prompt for Folder' or Prompt for File' option.
. You can provide custom message to be flashed while prompting.
. Select the user variable from drop-down that will store the file/folder path selected by
. Save the command.

Hope that helps.

I have the path name in a variable...so that is not a problem. My problem is how to apply that path to the "browse for folder" popup window in my screenshot? I do not believe it is possible to so and I just wanted confirmation.

This is a directory tree and there is no place to directly enter the path. I believe you have to mouse click your way through the directory. I see no other way.
