Hello,

1) Yes, we use the same path for Temp folder on Windows 7. We don't have any experience using RAM Disk with our Product however, we could reproduce the mentioned error at our end and our engineering team is still working on it as we speak.
2) There is no way you can turn off undo-redo feature.

HOW large are the ATMNs that you folks test with when developing new versions?

Is there some practical limit like 100 lines or 200 lines that we should stay below?

thanks!
Phil

Hello,

We tested with 1000+ lines. There is no such limit.

Hi Phil, I just downloaded your task and made a few edits... the changes took less than a second each time I saved them. It didn't seem any longer than any smaller tasks I work with. I just added in some message boxes and edited some lines. Note that I did not run the task. Also, I am using AA 6.0 Beta R4. Which is maybe a previous version of the AA 6.0 you are using.

My comp has a 2.4 GHz Cor2 Quad CPU and 3 GB of RAM.

Hope that helps!

Tyler

2 Monitors. Using Windows XP Pro. Did you delete your temp files? AA leaves files behind when opening web pages... that slowed some machines down for me... I think you've seen the posts on that though.

I can't believe you could edit that 500 line atmn in on second...

I also dont understand WHY temp files would matter??

I did move to DATA RAM for temp files - it helped a bit but not much.

I have so many problems, I'm wondering if I did something that has contaminated the aa file structure.

Do you have another machine you can try editing the atmn file on? Just to confirm that it's something about your specific machine.

With respect to the temp files... I don't know exactly what it is that causes things to slow down... but once mine hit ~3 gigs, the running of tasks slowed waaaay down... and performance of the machine in general was poor. But I didn't edit tasks on the machine that had this issue... just ran exe tasks so it may not be relevant to your situation at all.

If you haven't already, maybe try an uninstall/reinstall of AA.

I've probably done about 10 uninstall re-install cycles of both 55 and 6

I actually wrote a macro (ATMN) to clear temp and profile folders to stay under 30meg for roaming profiles...

Can you tell me the SIZE and creation date of the BETA EXE that you downloaded?
I have a new machine I formatted and installed windows 7 on.
I think will try your beta if I can find it anywhere.

Phil
