Default How to make odbc connection to excel file

hi

I am trying to execute select query on my excel file to retrieve a specific records.when i tried the database connectivity through AA, it worked fine but when i try to use excel instead of database,i cannot retrieve the data.?

Anybody please help me in this

Hello,

The reason is, the SQL query would include $ sign to reference sheet name and Automation Anywhere uses $ sign for variables hence the confusion. You need to create a variable that reads value from a text file, in that text file define SQL query and use this variable in 'Insert SQL' command.
