Default "can not open the file....when task was recorded"

Ok, that's not the exact error message, but you get the gist.

I've run into this before, but its been a LONG time.

I have multiple tasks setup as EXE files and running on a machine solely for this purpose.

Last night, a very important task did not run because it couldn't find something related to it. The last time this happened, it was because I was attaching to a network resource for these files. I re-wrote the tasks to access a local machine resource (on the C: drive). I have not had this problem since, until last night.

I have no explanation as to how it could fail to find a resource on the C drive.

Is there some way I can tell if the EXE is correct as compared to the task in my AA editor where it IS correct? The second task of the night ran fine... it is built exactly the same way.

I am stumped. Its been running fine 5 days a week for since February of 2008.

Hello,

This is very strange as we have never heard or seen such type of behaviour before. However, let us investigate.

Can you please send us screenshot of error that you receive also, the task so that we can actually see and help you resolve it?

If the task runs well then create exe of task again and run it.

Hope that helps.

I do not have a screen shot of the error, and I seriously hope it does not recurr, alowing me to take a screenshot of the error.

where woudl you like me to send the task?

I would like to know if I can see when I last saved the task... or updated the exe. That will at least tell me if the exe is running the same code as the task.

Hello,

You can upload the task here on forums. Otherwise, we will send you an email from support and you can reply it back with your task.

You can see the modified date of task or exe to check the last update date.

I know it is difficult, but, I've begun to try to save a TXT and ATMN with every EXE.

It would be "nice" if an atmn and TXT file could be recreated from an EXE.

this would be nice for debugging and configuration management.
