Default Modifying HTML in emails

There is an option for Text and an option for HTML.

Selecting HTML is misleading because I can't find a way to actually modify the HTML. The only formatting options are the ones AA offers (not that much). Right-clicking and selecting 'view source' brings up the actual HTML but changes made to not seem to save.

A further oddity. I was able to get HTML (when selecting HTML format) to work only if first sent to a variable. Inputting the HTML directly it doesn't work.

Is there a way to modify/add HTML directly?

Hello,

You can modify the HTML directly using formatting options available with the command. Another option is edit the HTML format in a text file and use Automation Anywhere to fetch the data from that text file.

Regarding View Source option, currently this option is only for viewing and not for editing. We have forwarded your requirement to the product development team for the future version of product.

Hope that helps.

1 - The formatting options within the command are very few.
2 - Why would fetching the HTML from a text file be any different then putting the HTML directly into the message body?

I'm experiencing many inconsistencies with the built-in formatting. Its placing random Line Breaks into the message whenever I format some of the text to Bold or use variables or insert images. I spent many hours trying different options, but can't get it to work perfectly. Editing the HTML directly is really the only option.

Hello,

May we please know what exact formatting you need so we can suggest viable solution?

Able to edit View Source, this requirement we have forwarded to development team for future release.

The only formatting requirements are to BOLD specific words and to add an image. Doing either of these resulted in random line-breaks appearing in the text.
I had sent this task by email to support last week and have not received a response.

I gave up working with the email formatting in AA. Instead I used AA to automatically start a Word Mail Merge. No formatting issues there!
