Default Checking checkbox values in web page table

Hi,

New to AA but used similar before.

We have a web system that takes date parameters to produce a result set of XML documents which can be selected by checking a checkbox (only one at a time). When the checkbox is checked, we can click a download button and the document is downloaded (Save As dialog, etc).

In testing, this worked fine on a web recording - selected the top record and downloaded.

Now, we need to loop through the result set, checking the checkbox in the next row until we reach a record we've already downloaded and exit the loop. Records can't be deleted once downloaded so the only selection param is the date range. We never know how many rows there will be.

The web recording has 'receivedDocuments.selected.0' as the checkbox value but we obviously need to get to 'receivedDocuments.selected.1' to 'receivedDocuments.selected.n' . We've tried setting attribute values, etc., but the run always stops with 'receivedDocuments.selected.0 (INPUT) not found' .

Any thoughts on how to do this. I don't think [Tab]ing through is viable.

Regards,

David Q

Hello,

We need to look into the actual scenario to suggest viable solution. Is it possible for you to upload the task that you have created so far? Or if you can provide URL of website and the proper steps to automate the task then we can create sample as per the requirement.

Hi,

I've attached the Task as a zip. The Task is password protected and the password and further details have been sent via PM.

Best regards,

David Q

Any advice? We've tried all sorts of combinations and still get nowhere.

Is AA actually capable of doing this?

Hello,

We have not received the password yet. May we please know the email address from which you sent the email? Perhaps spam filter blocked it. Is it possible for you to upload/send the task after removing the password? Otherwise, can you upload the text format of task so we can create sample to reproduce the issue.

You can locate your task by selecting your task from Task List, right clicking that particular task and selecting 'Locate on disk' from context menu. Otherwise, you can also send text format of task. For that, open your task in a Task Editor, go to Tools->Save as text file and send this text file.

It would help us investigate further.

We have again sent the password via Open a Support Case.

I ticked the box for a copy of the information sent and have just received my copy at david@jaybase.co.uk.

This is rapidly becoming critical and as I said, we have tried various alternatives within AA but we cannot seem to iterate through the table, checking individual boxes to download individual files (checking all the boxes would be an option but then OSN cannot download more than one file at a time!).

Any advice gratefully received.

Regards,

David Q

Hello,

In this scenario we need to capture the check box by Index. Attached is the amended task that works as mentioned.

Hope that helps.

Brilliant!

I don't think we'd have guessed that way to do it, so many, many thanks!
