Hello,

We need to place the loop before the command, which would navigate the current instance of IE to similar Window title.

In above sample task, we are first launching www.tethyssolotions.com (new IE instance), then closing all the instances of Automation Anywhere - Leader in Automation Software, Automated Testing. Automate with ease. and finally navigating to Automation Anywhere - Leader in Automation Software, Automated Testing. Automate with ease..

Hope that helps.

but,
In the process I'm working on,
All of the windows that are logged in have THE SAME title.

How can I distinguish among them?

Any new instance of IE will have the same window name if it is logged into the site.

I totally appreciate your frustration!

Going back to your reply to my other suggestion... have you tried doing what I'd suggested and navigating to a completely different URL, like Google, instead of just going to a different page on the same website with a different title?

Navigating from your logged in site to google shouldn't necessarily log you out... if you go back to the site you'd likely still be logged in. You could test it out in your browser without using AA.

Hello,

In that case you can navigate to different url (may be different webpage on same website), which can change your window title, then loop to close similar windows and finally navigate back to original webpage. For e.g. new instance of IE that have the same window name is 'ABC' so navigate to new webpage that can change the window title to 'XYZ' . Now close all 'ABC' windows and navigate back from 'XYZ' to 'ABC' .

Is it possible for you to provide URL of webpage and the dummy login details so we can create specific sample for reference.

Hope this helps.

ok -

Please pass along to development that it would be useful to have a count of the number of open instances of a particular window.

Thanks
Phil

thanks Ideally we could use the count as a variable in a loop and close all but the last instance. Phil
