Beware of tasks with names similar to windows. I found something unusual today. I had a Window open that I was doing CAPTUREs on to wait for the screen to change. I also had an AA task that I was editing with a similar name. The task was called aaClearDoItAll.atmn The Internet Explorer window was called: CLEAR - Microsoft Internet Explorer ..... I tried to do a capture using the select window of: Clear -* Even though I had Relative to WINDOW selected And Even though the windows don't match from a WILD CARD basis, I ended up getting negative coordinates x1 = -993 x2 = -47 How can that be RELATIVE to a window?? I then changed the AA task to be: aaKlearDoItAll.atmn But I still got the negative coordinates. The AA task was open in my "middle" monitor and the IE window was opened in my LEFT monitor. ?? what is happening ?? Strangely (to me) When I change the Secect Window to remove the * Then the coordinates become positive and reasonable. Finally, I can "fix" this by capturing without the wildcards, and then editing the select window name to include the wild cards... well, I still dont understand this. is it possible that the negative coordinates are due to having MULTIPLE monitors??? It appears that with AA in the middle screen the negative coordinates are for the monitor on the left. But, I have explicitly stated that I wanted them to be RELATIVE TO THE WINDOW not the Screen. What is going on? Last edited by philkryder; 02-11-2010 at 12:56 AM. |
