Can I use object recorder with Internet Explorer or is it just for non web stuff?

You can use object recorder with any browser including IE or use it with any windows or legacy applications. Having said that for IE I would recommend using web recorder. Web recorder is designed exclusively for web and it supports many advanced web controls and web technologies like java scripts, etc.

You can also mix and match. For example in web recorder task, you can insert few actions of object recorder or other way.
