I found I too had the exact same issue as you are facing. I contacted Tethys and they advised me to go to Start > Run and type in regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Automation Anywhere 5.0\AOSMTP.dll"

This reregisters a .dll file that is associated with sending email.
