Default Can all the tasks be scheduled with the help of auto login feature?

We run Automation Anywhere 3.0 and have a couple questions about its environment requirements. We currently have tasks that run a series of exports through a third party program. Automation Anywhere opens the program and file through a command line switch and then the program closes itself after it has completed the export. My question though is, does the computer need to be at the desktop for Automation Anywhere to launch this program? I ask this specifically because we have about 30 tasks like this and only 6 of them successfully run daily when the computer is in a locked state. If it is at the desktop and is not locked, then all 30 tasks run successfully. I would appreciate any help and / or explanation as to why we are having varying degrees of success
