Over the period of time we have received feedback from our customers on how they use Workspace Macro and
Workspace Macro Pro and make their day more productive and fun. Here are some of those tips, which you may find helpful as well.
Use Hotkeys and Keywords to launch macros:
Take advantage of the ease and convenience of using hotkeys or keywords to replay recorded macros.
Use Launch-n-Go - Hotkey manager & desktop toolbar with Workspace Macro. As an added benefit you
can assign hotkeys and keywords not only to macros but all your computer tasks.
Speed up your macros:
Speed up Windows macro replays using the SMART Macro High-Speed replay or SMART Macro Turbo-action replay. Record macros at regular speed and then replay at
higher speed for best results. This is especially useful for long macros, data entry or testing tasks.
Stick to activity on hand:
Stick to the activity on hand; don’t record anything that is not repetitive. For example, while visiting Internet sites, once in while you get pop-up
windows, don’t close it during recording. On the other hand, if you are sure that you always get a pop-up window, then feel free to close said window.
Don't take long breaks during macro recording:
When you are recording try not to take long breaks between actions. The macro program assumes this to be a required part of your routine and when macro
is replayed it will wait that long between actions. So hold off on answering that phone call, getting a coffee, etc., while recording.
Launch application as part of recording:
When recording an activity within an application, make sure you also include starting that application as part of that recording. For example, while
recording a login into a web-based email in Internet Explorer, as part of that recording make sure you also start the Internet Explorer application first.
Create shortcut to desktop:
If you don't plan to use Launch-n-Go
- Hotkey manager & desktop toolbar , there is another way to quickly
launch your macros. Create shortcut to desktop for most frequently used macros. This way, just double-clicking the file from the desktop, starts the
series of activities recorded in that Windows macro.
Edit macros to optimize performance even further
Workspace Macro Pro users can use macro editor to optimize recorded macros. You can edit the macro and remove unwanted mouse moves or delays and
optimize the performance even further.
