Here are some of the error messages you might see in Workspace Macro. The section below talks about possible causes and how to fix these problems.
1. "Cannot find window or application titled ' <title>' that was open during recording. If the window title changes every time you run the macro, check the option 'Enable this macro to run with other similar files or window titles' under the 'General' tab."
Cause and Solution: When you recorded your activity, you used an application that was already open before recording started.
Another cause could be that the application you recorded the activity in, did not load or start. Try to 'RUN' your workspace file once again. However if the problem persists, you may want to rerecord the workspace file.
2. “Internet Explorer is taking too long to load the web page. Timed out.
Check Internet connectivity and speed. Then 'RUN' your workspace macro file again.”
Cause and Solution: Your internet connection has been disconnected or the speed is very low and the web page is taking too long to load. Check your internet connection or re-connect to the Internet and then 'RUN' the workspace again.
3. "Cannot find <File name>."
Cause and Solution: You deleted or renamed a file in My Macro directory. Workspace Macro will automatically refresh the file list. Choose a file from refreshed list.
Workspace Macro features advanced SMART Macro technology with very sophisticated algorithms to ensure the high reliability of Workspace Macro. However some instances require you to re-record your workspace file. Future upgrades will aim at eliminating these limitations.
If the location or order of desktop icons, menu items, system tray (area of screen where you see the clock) or quick launch buttons (next to the start button) are changed or removed, then in few cases, you may need to re-record your workspace file.
If an application/ web page has a changed user interface (for e.g. because of an upgrade or a new look), then you will need to re-record your workspace. Changing the font size of the browser (for e.g. clicking on ‘View’>Text Size>Larger, etc.), between recording and playing the workspace file, will change the position/ layout of everything on that page. This may require you to re-record your workspace file.
Workspace Macro cannot close a window if the user, while recording, closes the window by right clicking on the window icon in the task bar and selecting ‘close’ from the menu.
If using Internet Explorer, Workspace Macro can automatically account for delays in loading a web page. Workspace Macro will wait till the page is loaded and then perform subsequent actions. However, this may not work in all cases for other browsers.
The 'CLOSE' button currently closes all the windows as if you clicked on the ‘X’ icon on top-right top corner of every window opened by your Workspace file. However you are required to take appropriate actions pertaining to specific applications that you use. For example, if you are logged-in to your web based email account, you may want to sign-out before closing that window.
