Automation Anywhere offers auto response capability where you can specify to run a task in response to some other
activity in your computer. For example run a task when new file is created in a specific folder, or when specific
window opens etc. Automation Anywhere supports three types of triggers.
- Window
- File
- Folder
- Window Trigger
Two types of actions are supported in Window trigger.
- When window opens
- When window closes
- File Trigger
Three types of actions are supported in File trigger.
- When file is created
- When file is deleted
- When file is renamed
- Folder Trigger
Six different types of folder triggers are supported.
- When any file is created in that folder
- When any file is deleted in that folder
- When any file is renamed in that folder
- When folder is created
- When folder is deleted
- When folder is renamed

To unlock the computer when the triggered task runs, please click on Auto Login Settings
Note: You can also use the triggers to execute the workflows.
Example 1: Running an Automation
Anywhere task every time 'Adobe Photoshop' window opens.
- Select the Type as Window.
- From Window Title drop down, specify the Title of the Adobe Photoshop. If you do not see the title, then open the
application and click on Refresh.
- From the Action, select 'When window opens' & save the trigger.
- Every time the Adobe Photoshop window opens, it will launch your task.
Example 2: Running an Automation Anywhere task to notify you via e-mail
every time a file is deleted from your critical work folder.
- Select the Type as Folder.
- Click on '...' button next to Folder Name and select your Folder to monitor.
- From the Action, select 'When any file is deleted' & save the trigger.
- Every time any file is deleted from your critical folder, it will launch your task and send an e-mail to notify you.
